Checkout Manager | Retail Grocery | North County Dublin
We are seeking an experienced
Checkout Manager
to join a busy supermarket in North County Dublin on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail supervisory experience who is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Salary:
€25,000-€28,000 per annum
The Role:
This is a full-time position working an average of 42.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays.
The role may evolve to 3 days Checkout Management and 2 days HR/Admin support.
Main Duties:
Overall management of a busy checkout department
Supervision of a team of 8-10 staff on duty
Rostering for a team of approximately 25, including supervisory staff
Queue management and ensuring excellent customer service
Ensuring all staff have the tools required for their role
Covering tills during peak periods and supporting the customer service desk
Overseeing the store end of home delivery operations
Departmental housekeeping and adherence to relevant legislation
Staff training, development, and mentoring
Assisting the store manager in other areas as required
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years' experience managing a busy checkout team in a retail grocery environment
Experience with till/cash register systems
Strong people management and leadership skills
Excellent communication, organisational, and multi-tasking skills
Experience in staff training and development
Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver excellent customer service
Flexible to work early starts, late finishes, and weekends
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Able to work independently and as part of a team
