The Glashaus Hotel, Tallaght, Co. Dublin is currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Part Time Breakfast Chef to join or friendly and dynamic team.
Reporting to the Head Chef your role will be to prepare food to the highest standard while providing an excellent dining experience to guests.
Duties And Responsibilities
* To prepare and present all hot and cold food items for breakfast to the agreed standards of The Glashaus
* To participate as a team member in the kitchen during Breakfast and Lunch service
* To assist other chefs where necessary
* Responsible for maintaining a high standard of work performance and conduct at all times
* Responsible for maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance (full uniform must be worn while on duty)
* To keep all kitchen and work areas clean and tidy at all times and observing all food handling regulations and requirements
* To assist with any additional functions/parties when required
* To maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen ensuring compliance with legislative standards
* Maintain clean communication between the kitchen and other Departments
* To ensure that all costs are kept within the agreed budget where possible and notify the Head Chef when problems are identified
* Use kitchen equipment as per its purpose at all times
* To report any maintenance defects to the maintenance department following the correct procedure
* Attend training courses as required and ensure staff in the department attend
* Work towards the aims of the kitchen
* To be fully conversant with emergency procedures
* To ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained in the kitchen and action/report any hazards as necessary.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures
* Complete all other duties as requested by the Senior Management Team
Experience, Skills And Qualifications
* Food Hygiene certificate Level 2 desired but not essential
* Kitchen experience advantageous
* Experience in working with strict Health and Hygiene regime skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of customer care
* A team player who is prepared to assist colleagues and move from one activity to another as required
* Excellent attention to detail
* A commitment to completing a high standard of work to agreed deadlines and timescales while having the appropriate knowledge and understanding
* A good understanding of all applicable Health and Safety legislation
* A strong knowledge and understanding of nutritional and allergen requirements
* Full understanding of food controls
* Strong passion and love for food
* Enthusiasm for the role and for the hospitality industry in general
* Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays
* Willingness to change hours and days of work from time to time upon request and subject to operational requirements
