About This Role
As a Senior Project Ecologist, you will be responsible for managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services. This role will provide exposure to a diverse range of projects across renewable energy, circular economy, environmental, and sustainable infrastructure sectors.
Main Responsibilities:
* Managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services.
* Delivering expert ecological input across a wide range of projects.
* Planning, executing and supervising site-based ecological surveys and fieldwork.
* Preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
* Carrying out Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other required environmental documentation.
* Producing high-standard technical reports and other project deliverables.
* Ensuring high quality control through attention to detail, timely delivery, and a commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of work produced by the Ecology Team.
* Acting as an expert witness during Oral Hearings when required.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
* Degree in ecology or closely related discipline.
* Minimum of five years post graduate experience.
* Experience in environmental consultancy is advantageous.
* Member of CIEEM, CIWEM or an equivalent professional organisation.
* Strong understanding of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
* Proven ability in producing high-quality technical reports.
* Experience in preparing Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs).
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills.
* Full, clean driving licence.
