Reporting directly into the CEO and working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, the CRO will provide forward‑looking risk insights, drive a strong risk culture, and ensure best‑in‑class governance standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring robust identification, assessment, oversight, and reporting of all material risks while maintaining full compliance with Solvency II and CBI requirements.
Provide strategic risk insights to the CEO, Board and Executive Committee, overseeing risk appetite, governance, stress testing, and the delivery of annual and ad‑hoc ORSAs.
Support organisational growth initiatives, including M&A activity, through risk due diligence, acquisition ORSAs, and the integration of new portfolios into the risk framework.
Embed a strong, proactive risk culture across the business, maintaining effective controls, governance processes, and high‑quality risk reporting.
Ideal Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Degree in Finance, Risk, Actuarial Science, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CFA or FRM are advantageous.
Current PCF role holder, a CF role holder will be potentially considered also.
Extensive senior‑level risk management expertise and skills in the General Insurance / Reinsurance sectors, with deep expertise in Solvency II and CBI risk frameworks.
Proven leadership capability with the ability to influence and engage effectively at Board and Executive levels.
Strong technical knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks, ORSA processes, stress testing, and governance.
Experience supporting M&A activity, including risk assessment and integration.
Strategic thinker, highly adaptable, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving organisation.
