NoOffer DescriptionApplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as Postdoctoral Researcher with Professor Róisín Dwyer’s team in the Discipline of Surgery at the University of Galway, Ireland.This position is part of the Precision Oncology Ireland (POI)-2 Network (https://www.precisiononcology.ie) and is funded jointly by Research Ireland and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI). The post is available from April 2026 to March 2029.The Dwyer Lab is focused on development of novel therapies for metastatic breast cancer (Róisín Dwyer – University of Galway). This project will specifically investigate the potential of microRNAs as targeted therapeutics for metastatic breast cancer. The therapeutic potential of a panel of miRNAs will be determined through interrogation of individual and synergistic functional activity, and tumor-targeted delivery via extracellular vesicles (EVs). To closely mimic the clinical setting, the project will utilise advanced 3D dynamic in vitro and in vivo models of breast cancer.Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate salary scale €46,805- €59,654 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the pay scale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior year’s equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scale.Closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 (Irish Time) on 17th April 2026.
