The HV Cable Maintenance and Commissioning Specialist will provide expert technical support for the HV cable commissioning and maintenance of ESB assets. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience, a thorough understanding of industry best practices in HV Cable Commissioning and Maintenance, and the ability to lead a highly motivated technical team.
As part of ESB's strategic goals to decarbonize electricity, build resilient infrastructure, and empower clients, you will deliver specialist asset lifecycle management engineering services for ESB's Transmission & Distribution businesses. Your role will support the ESB PR6 Capital and Asset Management work programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively manage resources and establish commissioning and maintenance systems to support the delivery and maintenance of existing assets and PR6 cable programme.
* Lead and implement the Cable Commissioning and Maintenance strategy for ESB HV Cables with a focus on safety, budget and programme KPIs.
* Build, maintain and apply expert technical knowledge and promote Continual Professional Development across the Cable Maintenance and Commission group through leadership, coordination and mentoring of staff.
* Manage the production of specifications, technical enquiry documents including evaluation of tender enquiry frameworks.
* Lead the technical development of 400kV cable commissioning and maintenance
* Representing ESB and contributing to international technical forums
* Manage a team responsible for commissioning and maintenance inspection of high-voltage (HV) cables
Experience and Qualifications
* 10 years' relevant experience in the commissioning and maintenance of 110kV & 220kV transmission cables
* Knowledge of Cable Transmission maintenance procedures and methodologies
* Understands and applies project management PMO principles
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Safety Rules and procedures
Location
This position will be based in OneDac, Dublin Airport, Co Dublin
