Job Role: Care Companion
The role of a care companion involves delivering high-quality support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a respectful and safe environment.
This position requires a person who is compassionate, understanding, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team. The successful candidate will provide individualised care and support to meet the needs of each service user.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others and be committed to providing excellent care and support at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
* Assist with developing and implementing individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each service user
* Provide emotional support and companionship to service users
* Collaborate with other members of the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care services
Essential Requirements:
* QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or a related field (full major award required)
* Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
