Job Title: Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Oncology/Haematology Location: Waterford Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Recruitment Partner: Cpl, Healthcare About the Role Cpl, Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital for an experienced Advanced Specialist Pharmacist specializing in Oncology and Haematology.
This full-time, permanent position offers a key leadership role within the pharmacy service, focusing on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy support in a specialized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards and specialized clinical areas.
Ensure patient care and safety are prioritized at all times.
Manage and optimize clinical information systems related to Oncology/Haematology pharmacy services.
Develop, review, and implement medication policies, protocols, and guidelines, including those related to Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
Oversee safe and cost-effective management of medications, including formulary decisions and stock shortages.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve medication management and clinical guidelines.
Lead audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy service.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for pharmacy staff.
Participate in hospital governance, committees, and service transformation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
Minimum of 4 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience, including clinical and line management roles.
Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy, ideally with experience in oncology/haematology.
Proven leadership, organizational, and resource management skills.
Experience with change management and quality improvement initiatives.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Desirable Formal management or leadership training.
Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Background in aseptic compounding or cancer specialty pharmacy services.
Additional qualifications such as a postgraduate diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
