Lead Systems Platform Architect
The Shared Components Service Delivery team is seeking a candidate to help solve problems, plan and design the footprint of our systems, and lead Mastercard in defining standards and best practices.
Infrastructure Design at Mastercard is a team of Technology Architects responsible for analyzing and designing infrastructure frameworks that fit application, platform, or system needs, aligning with Mastercard's operational standards and engineering principles.
We are engaged from the beginning of the analysis and design phase to work with application teams and other critical teams within Mastercard to ensure completed infrastructure and application architecture meet Mastercard's security, scalability, reliability, and availability standards.
* Gather requirements, conduct infrastructural analysis, and produce robust designs adhering to approved Mastercard technologies, ensuring the design meets all Mastercard technology and security policies.
* Meet with peers, engineers, application teams, and users to determine that all high-level requirements have been met.
* Generate products such as Technical Architecture Documents, technical memos, logical flows, and models to keep users, architects, and engineers constantly updated and in agreement on architecture and infrastructure layout of an application, system, or platform.
* Ensure architectural products and products with architectural input are maintained in the most current state and never allowed to become obsolete.
* Implement, manage, and support application infrastructure components while leveraging current standards and best practices.
* Resolve internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability and performance globally.
* Lead and collaborate to achieve definition of new standards.
* Research and evaluate new technology for possible deployment in Mastercard's internet infrastructure.
* Assume lead and total accountability for ongoing regional projects as assigned, including responsibility for planning, time and cost control, resource utilization, and implementation.
* Contribute to incident/problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.
* Provide input into performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management for Mastercard components.

Education (preferred):
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Requirements:
* Advanced knowledge of Web application architecture and project delivery.
* Advanced knowledge of how the Java Virtual Machine works, how Garbage collection works.
* Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
* Advanced knowledge of network and operating system principles.
* Vast knowledge of middleware technologies (Web Servers, Application Servers, Queue Managers, Messaging, Caching).
* Working knowledge of Database technologies.
* Working knowledge of cloud technologies.
* Solid knowledge of techniques or methodologies to achieve non-functional requirements like reliability, availability, resilience, performance, security.
* Working knowledge of Role Based Access Control, Authentication, and Authorization mechanisms.
* Proficient in root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
