What is the opportunity?
A great opportunity to be at the forefront of enabling advanced analytics in Bank of Ireland. Driving SAS platform and technical solutions to develop and deliver the data and analytics strategy for the Group Data Analytics Office, in a critical role interfacing to IT and Business partners.
This role will expose the successful candidate to market leaders in the data, technology and analytics space.
In this role, you will:

Own and evolve the Bank's SAS data and advanced analytics platform, including migration from SAS Grid to SAS Viya on AWS/Azure.
Establish and embed SAS best practices, governance, controls, and operating models to ensure performance, data integrity, resilience, and efficient workload management.
Optimise platform scalability, stability, cost efficiency, and cloud-native capabilities while ensuring ITSCM resilience and continuous improvement.
Design and own the SAS platform service TOM covering application support, change and incident management, access management, monitoring, alerting, and code/version control.
Manage key supplier relationships (SAS, hosting partners, AMS providers) and support platform upgrades, architectural improvements, and technology roadmap alignment.
Assess new technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the SAS environment.

What will make you stand out?

Confirmed experience in similar data platform roles is crucial.
Excellent SAS product knowledge and skills. Exposure to Teradata, Hadoop, API's, Control‑M and Tableau integrations.
SAS platform management experience is crucial (preferably both SAS Grid & SAS Viya) and SAS integration with underlying infrastructures (ideally AWS / Azure / GCP - SaaS / PaaS).
Consistent track record implementing enterprise data infrastructure solutions working with multiple partners and project delivery teams.
Adaptable, bias for action, result driven and passionate about execution excellence.
Ability to take a lead role and take ownership of sophisticated integration deliveries.

The Group Data & Analytics Office provides a key service supporting the Group values and Strategic Pillars enabling the Bank to transform by building confidence in our Data, serve our customers and grow sustainable profits in the digital age.
The strategic objective of the GDAO is to build the components to support quality data and analytics to drive an understanding of the customer to create tailored experiences, driving personalised insights and fostering loyalty and competitive advantage as well as developing data maturity in the Group across all key areas of Governance, Infrastructure, Analytics & Value Realisation.
This is a hybrid role, based primarily in Dublin. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support teamwork and connection.
Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
