Job Vacancy: Temporary Administrative Officer (Nov 2025 – Dec 2025)
The Fulbright Commission in Ireland is seeking to appoint a full-time (5 days per week) Administrative Officer for a temporary 2-month contract from November 2025 to the end of December 2025.
Background
The Fulbright Commission in Ireland is a bilateral partnership supported by the U.S. Department of State and the Irish Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Its funding is derived from Irish and U.S. governments, higher education institutions, public agencies, organisations, and donations.
The Fulbright Commission in Ireland annually awards grants for Irish citizens to study, research, or teach in the U.S., and for Americans to do the same in Ireland. Since 1946, the Fulbright Program\'s purpose has been to increase mutual respect and understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through educational and cultural exchange.
Position Requirements
* Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the successful candidate must:
* Have a minimum of four years’ experience in an AO or equivalent role
* Have excellent communication (written and spoken), administration, and interpersonal skills
* Have excellent IT skills with strong Microsoft Office experience
* Have some bookkeeping / finance experience
* Enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment and small team
* Empathise with Fulbright’s mission
* Be legally eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland
Desirable
* In-depth experience with CRM systems
* Office management experience
* Knowledge of the Irish and U.S. higher education systems
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are indicative, not exhaustive:
* Provide administrative support to the Executive Director
* Assist with sponsor credit control and supplier payments
* Support Fulbright award, orientation, and cultural programming logistics
* Assist with board meetings, including paper prep and logistics
* Manage diary scheduling, filing, reception duties, and office supplies and sundries
* Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Contract Details
* Contract Duration: Temporary 2-month contract (Nov 2025 – Dec 2025)
* Salary: TBC
* Leave: 20 days annual leave pro-rata
* Location: Dublin 2 office with possibility of part-time remote work
