Cyber Threat Simulation Engineer Location: Dublin | Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Salary: €60,000 - €70,000 DOE A major organisation is seeking a Cyber Threat Simulation Engineer to enhance its defensive capabilities through proactive security testing and adversary emulation. This is a hands-on technical role focused on assessing detection strength and improving incident response readiness across enterprise systems. The Role Working within the Cyber Defence team, you will design and execute realistic attack simulations to identify potential weaknesses in monitoring, tooling, and process maturity. The role bridges both offensive and defensive security disciplines - ideal for someone passionate about understanding attacker behaviours and helping teams build stronger defences. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute controlled attack simulations based on real-world threat intelligence. Collaborate with detection and incident response teams to test and refine monitoring capabilities. Automate simulation workflows using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Map test activities to frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK to measure detection coverage. Produce post-simulation reports outlining findings, coverage gaps, and recommendations. Continuously research evolving TTPs to enhance testing methodologies. Skills & Experience 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, detection engineering, or red teaming. Strong understanding of SIEM, EDR, and network monitoring environments. Scripting and automation experience essential. Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
