Position Overview As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our organisation's data-driven initiatives. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, availability, and performance, while collaborating with development teams, product managers and stakeholders. This position will be responsible for how we manage data across the platform, commencing from data model definition through to actively working alongside engineers on implementation. You will be responsible for managing our platform's data handling, including defining the data model and collaborating with engineers and architects to implement it. How you will contribute Define data structures, mappings and flows to enable performant data processing and analysis. Research and evaluate data technologies and tools to support our business goals, including hands-on technical evaluation and PoCs. Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Develop and implement data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow across systems. Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability. Design and implement data storage solutions, including caching, partitioning, and indexing to improve performance. Produce and contribute to high-quality documentation. Desired Experience 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or related roles. Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or relevant experience. Experience working in the financial services, financial technology and risk management industry. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience developing data pipelines and streaming flows for cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure). In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB, Neo4J, etc). Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL, Bash, Java, Scala, R). Knowledge of data storage and analytics solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Informatica). Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI). Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
