About Your New Job
As the HV/MV Project Manager, you will take full ownership of high-voltage and medium-voltage substation and grid connection projects supporting renewable energy developments.
You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while acting as the key technical and commercial lead from design through commissioning and handover.
In this role, you will:
Lead the full project lifecycle of HV/MV substations and grid connection works, from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover
Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and quality plans in line with contractual, regulatory, and ESB requirements
Provide technical leadership on HV/MV substations, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, and control systems
Coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Interface with ESB Networks, clients, and renewable developers to secure approvals, grid connections, and commissioning sign-off
Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, CDM Regulations, ESB standards, and ISO quality systems
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline
Significant experience delivering HV/MV substation or grid infrastructure projects, ideally within EPC or renewable energy environments
Strong technical knowledge of HV/MV systems, protection schemes, grid codes, and commissioning processes
Proven project management experience, managing budgets, programmes, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Chartered Engineer status and formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM) are advantageous.
