Piping/Mechanical Supervisor (Cork) We are representing a leading Irish engineering contractor known for delivering complex mechanical, piping, and bespoke fabrication projects across industrial and commercial sectors. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Piping/Mechanical Supervisor to join their site team in Cork, managing the successful delivery of high-specification installations. This is a critical site leadership role for an individual who can maintain superior safety and quality standards while driving project schedules efficiently. Key Responsibilities The Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of piping and mechanical teams on-site, ensuring all installation activities comply with specifications, drawings, and project timelines. Site Management & Execution Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate on-site mechanical teams, subcontractors, and labourers, ensuring maximum productivity and compliance. Piping Installation: Oversee all piping installation activities, including fabrication, assembly, welding, hydrotesting, and flushing, particularly focusing on stainless steel pipework. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the highest quality of workmanship in line with project specifications and engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics). Resource Management: Manage and track manpower, tools, and materials on site, ensuring efficient use of resources. Coordination: Liaise effectively with the Mechanical Project Manager, QA/QC, engineering teams, and other trades to resolve technical issues and maintain schedule alignment. Safety & Compliance HSE Compliance: Champion a proactive safety culture on site, ensuring strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations. Documentation: Prepare and submit daily progress reports, inspection requests, and site reports. Toolbox Talks: Conduct and participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings. Candidate Profile & CompensationDesired Criteria Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping or mechanical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/foreman role. Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or high-tech industrial sectors is highly advantageous. Technical Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency in mechanical systems, piping installation techniques, welding standards, and construction procedures. Qualifications: A relevant trade qualification (e.g., pipefitting, plumbing) or an equivalent technical/engineering certification. Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems under pressure, and drive projects to completion.
