Job Description
This role reports directly to the Operational Coordinator. You will work in a team screening babies in their first days of life. The ideal candidate is reliable, has good communication skills, and is comfortable working with mothers and very young babies. You should be passionate about providing a family-friendly yet professional experience during the screening process.
Main Responsibilities:
* Promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment, endorsing a family-friendly approach to care.
* Communicate with and provide information to parents about hearing screening and obtain parental consent.
* Carry out hearing screenings for newborns.
* Inform parents of screening outcomes according to Local & National Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) protocols.
* Accurately record clinical and test data and ensure timely transfer of information to the manager.
* Maintain patients' and families' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
* Be aware of child protection issues and adhere to local procedures.
* Keep up-to-date with procedures and policies relevant to this role.
* Ensure the safety and security of equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
* Participate in a rota to cover sickness and leave of colleagues as needed.
* Work flexibly when required.
Qualifications:
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Proven experience working with people.
* Strong IT skills are essential.
* Healthcare background is desirable.
