Job Title:
The Senior Cost Estimation Manager plays a pivotal role in managing and analyzing projects, estimating costs, and overseeing the estimating process for all project bids. This key position is responsible for establishing standardized procedures and methods for the estimating department and assisting in estimating conceptual alternative procurements such as Design-Build and Energy Projects.
This senior-level position requires strong critical thinking skills, an eye for detail, and knowledge about gaps. The ideal candidate must be able to make sound assumptions and oversee the analysis of past performance on projects.
Responsibilities:
* Assigning responsibilities for the Estimating Team on each project
* Evaluating requests for estimates with the Executive Team, preparing weekly bid calendar, and reviews
* Conducting weekly estimating meetings to ensure timely completion of estimates
* Reviewing project plans and specifications and coordinating with the team to confirm the complete scope
* Assisting with identifying risk issues and their level of importance
* Managing the soliciting of subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing for each project
* Overseeing the instructions to bidders, bid form, and other bid solicitation information as required for each project
* Coordinating technical proposal requirements with the Marketing Department and managing insurance requirements
