Job objectives
The Deputy Social Care Manager will support the Centre on a full-time basis, providing leadership and management to the team in a social or healthcare setting. They will hold the necessary responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of the service in line with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
* Ensure Personal Plans, Risk Assessments and Behavioural Support Plans are up to date and that services meet high quality and safety standards.
* Provide the highest quality of care and support to people who use the service.
* Ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with Health ACT 2007 and related regulations.
* Manage the staff team, coordinating input from Clinical Team and other departments as required.
* Provide mentorship and leadership; conduct formal supervisions, appraisals, and monthly team meetings.
* Oversee the service across shifts to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
* Adhere to local safety statements, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* Maintain high infection control standards in line with policy and national guidance.
* Act as an active leader and role model; contribute to an effective team and participate in meetings, reviews, and committees as required.
* Seek and provide guidance as needed for work performed.
Qualifications
* Level 7/8 Degree in a Health or Social related field (or suitable equivalent with management qualification in healthcare).
* Full Clean Driver’s license.
Knowledge
* Minimum 3 years managerial experience within a similar health or social care setting.
Skills
* Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; good judgment
* Ability to make critical decisions and provide recommendations
* Capable of working in a fast-paced and flexible team
* Good listener and eager to learn
* Excellent organizational, self-motivation, and self-starting abilities
