Automation Technician

We're seeking a talented professional to join our team in improving patient lives through innovative technology and project management. Our story began with Herman O. West solving the problem of supplying penicillin in mass quantities during World War 2. How will your expertise help shape our future?

* Develop new technologies and support existing ones to enhance production, quality, profitability, and safety.
* Plan, schedule, execute projects, and communicate project status to meet targeted timelines.
* Manage/assist in facility expansions and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the development of new technologies, existing technologies, and production lines.
* Develop, execute, and document project assignments in compliance with committed timelines and project goals.
* Ensure technical and customer requirements for assigned projects are met.
* Develop and maintain required validation and project management documents.
* Conduct or participate in routine project reviews with Project Teams and Management.
* Perform design work, layouts, sketches, concepts, etc., as needed for projects and/or plant layouts.
* Develop and/or review engineering change requests for modifications to processes, equipment, and facilities.
* Troubleshoot and repair all automation systems.
* Evaluate and maintain proper machine safeties to protect employees when operating automation.
* Ensure automation lines meet their targeted output and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by analyzing production data.
* Maintain quality finished products through proper maintenance and operation of all automation.
* Provide timely notification to shift leaders and program managers of maintenance and downtime issues.

Requirements:

* A relevant Associate's Degree is required, while a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
* At least 3 years of experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries is required.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting technical project management is preferred.
* A background in medical devices/pharmaceuticals would be beneficial.
* Familiarity with quality systems requirements, FDA Quality System Regulation, cGMP, and relevant ISO standards is necessary.
