About the Role
An established engineering firm based in Cork seeks a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, and compliance across its operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Health & Safety Management System in line with Irish legislation and industry standards.
* Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections across multiple project locations.
* Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
* Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to all staff and subcontractors.
* Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., HSA), and manage documentation/reporting.
* Advise senior management on legal requirements, policy updates, and improvements to safety performance.
* Track and report safety metrics (KPIs) and ensure continuous improvement of safety practices.
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a health and safety management role within engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
* Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and best practices.
* NEBOSH or IOSH certification highly desirable.
