The Role
We are looking to strengthen our existing Tax Team with the addition of a Tax Senior to join our Balbriggan office. This opportunity is ideally suited to a newly qualified or soon‑to‑be qualified Chartered Tax Advisor who is keen to advance their career within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. The role will be office‑based Monday to Thursday, with the added benefit of a half‑day working from home on Fridays.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Tax Manager and will thrive in a hands‑on role, bringing ambition, motivation, and a strong desire for continued professional development.
Manage and deliver assigned work to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with client expectations
Review work prepared by junior team members, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines
Supervise, mentor, and support junior tax staff, providing guidance, training, and constructive feedback
Take ownership of client relationships within your portfolio, acting as a key point of contact
Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients
Liaise with clients throughout assignments to obtain necessary information and ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
Identify cross‑selling opportunities and collaborate with other departments to deliver integrated client solutions
Monitor and manage work in progress, ensuring achievement of monthly billing and recovery targets
Represent the firm at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings as required
Stay up to date with relevant tax legislation, industry developments, and best practices
Participate in ongoing professional development and training where appropriate
Prepare internal and external communications, reports, and presentations for review and approval
Conduct research and present findings to clients, management, and other stakeholders as required
Prepare internal management reports on the status and progress of assignments
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, efficiency, and service quality
Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and professional standards at all times
Undertake additional ad hoc duties as required
Education & Experience
Qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or close to qualification
Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax legislation
Experience in a practice environment, managing a portfolio of clients
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Proactive, with a problem‑solving mindset and a willingness to take initiative
A team player who can also work independently when required
Eager to learn and develop within a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment
Strong IT skills, including experience with tax software and Microsoft Office
