About the RoleJSF Construction, based in South Tipperary, is recruiting an Accounting Technician to spearhead our growing accounting & finance section. This role supports the finance function across our group of construction and property companies and is suited to an experienced accounting professional who wants exposure and responsibility in a construction based, fast-paced environment.You'll be hands-on with core finance operations, working closely with our sales and operational teams, and contributing directly to accurate financial reporting and process improvement.If you have the Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks efficiently, are highly organised with strong planning and problem-solving abilities, we would love to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable processesReconcile balance sheet items, including VAT, payroll, leases, hire purchases, and fixed assets.Process and issue sales invoices, credit notes, and supplier invoicesPerform bank reconciliations.Monitor debtor accounts and assist with credit control, including follow-up on overdue paymentsSupport month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepaymentsAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reportsMaintain accurate accounting records to support audits, tax compliance, and statutory reportingUse accounting software systems (e.g. Sage, Surf) to ensure accurate data entry and reportingAssist with budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reportingLiase and work closely with our company accountant, tax advisors, and internal stakeholdersIdentify and implement process improvements and internal control enhancementsRequirements & ExperienceAccounting Technician qualification or currently working towards a professional accounting qualificationWorking closely with Company Accountant on all accounting requirements.Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting, finance, or bookkeeping roleStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and month-end processesHigh attention to detail with strong analytical, organisational, and communication skillsProficiency in accounting systems (Sage, Surf or similar) and Microsoft ExcelSelf-starter with initiative and accountabilityA continuous improvement mindset with the ability to adapt and improve processesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary, dependent on experiencePension schemeLong-term career progression within a growing and evolving finance functionSupport additional finance and administrative duties as requiredJob Type: PermanentWork Location: In person
