Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a 12 month day rate contract basis (PAYE). This is a fully onsite position, based in Dublin.
Must have Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data centre equipment and facilities.
Hands‑on experience with commissioning processes.
Strong knowledge of regional building codes and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Background in industrial or commercial engineering within mission‑critical environments such as data centres, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
Proven skills in contractor negotiation and management across design, construction, and project execution.
Experience delivering fast‑track design/build projects or managing multiple large‑scale upgrade initiatives.
Ability to carry design concepts from exploration through development to deployment or mass production.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and producing construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the electrical design of critical infrastructure for new‑build data centres across the EMEA region.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously across diverse geographical locations.
Review and approve equipment submittals, ensuring compliance with design standards.
Oversee and coordinate design consultancy firms to develop, validate, and release data centre designs.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather user requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
Partner with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective Actions (CA) for design‑related challenges.
Define project scopes and provide technical support throughout the construction phase.
Work closely with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify and procure appropriate electrical equipment.
Travel to sites for reviews, engineering evaluations, audits, and launch activities.
