Key Responsibilities
* Oversees and plans the unit's daily patient care activities.
* Evaluates workloads and skill requirements in order to provide patient care.
* Assigns patient care tasks and evaluates staff competencies.
* Gives employees the right responsibilities in accordance with departmental standards, professional and legal requirements.
* Explains unit requirements and/or incidents in a clear and concise manner to the clinical nurse manager.
* Acts as the unit's resource person.
* Helps with patient care when required.
* Finds the right internal controls for the department and offers ways to keep an eye on and enforce adherence to them.
* Takes part in providing patient care within the facility.
* Takes part in educating patients and their families.
* Venepuncture and IV cannulation if needed.
* Encourage the use of evidence-based practice.
Requirements
* In good standing is the NMBI General Nurse license.
* Preferably, three years of clinical experience.
* Teaching skills, leadership traits, professional judgment, the ability to think critically and solve problems, and a feeling of professional growth are all required of candidates. must exhibit the ability to multitask.
* Exhibit the capacity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
