What you can expect in a typical day:
The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the utilisation of the Maintenance Team for the safe, reliable and efficient execution of all maintenance activities. Accountable for adherence to maintenance and reliability work processes in alignment with asset integrity and reliability strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure optimum health, safety and environmental performance of the team, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, standards and Government regulations.
• Promote continuous HSE improvement in support of plant and company goals and objectives.
• Report, investigate and execute any applicable actions as a result of any unsafe occurrence.
• Drive a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring that maintenance teams take ownership for delivering safe, timely, and high-quality work. • Bring to the attention of the Execution Manager, Reliability & Maintenance Engineering Lead and/or Area Team any areas of concern with regard to Health, Safety or the Environment.
• Be responsible for the acceptance of work from planners/area team in area and administer work to supervisors.
• Work with area team, process specialists, planning and scheduling to review and approve plans for the effective execution of maintenance on piping, exchangers, vessels, furnaces, tanks, steel structures, and rotating equipment – motors, instrumentation, pumps, compressors, fans, turbines, air cooler fans in a timely manner.
• Influence outcomes by combining technical expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration, ensuring maintenance decisions support asset reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term business objectives.
• Provide progress reports/updates on all maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work orders are closed out properly, with quality and identify any lessons learned to planners.
• Accountable for the management and application of out of hours support resources to meet operational requirements.
• Recruiting and developing craft and supervisory personnel, including establishment of goals and objectives, assessing performance, coaching and providing feedback.
• Development, implementation and continuous improvement of routine maintenance work practices.
• Maintain maintenance execution systems and provide the necessary support required to reliability improvement programs.
• Provides feedback on Maintenance Schedule on daily basis and provides feedback to planners on quality of plans regularly.
• Utilising and stewarding of Maintenance Teams annualised hours & Call Ins.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality assurance and quality control management of work fronts in the completion of work orders.
• Provide support where required to Turnarounds, Single unit shutdowns and any maintenance campaigns.
• Assist area team in the development of any Maintenance Standards
• Assist in the resolving of any Labour Relations issues as required.

Education and Experience:
• Engineering qualification or equivalent combination of craft qualification and experience.
• 5 or more years of Industry, 5 or more years of supervisory experience
• Leadership experience to manage a diverse workforce to achieve plant goals.
• Proven track record of achieving and sustaining high HSE compliance.
• Knowledge of the Maintenance Planning & Scheduling process.
