As we continue to expand our digital and print offerings, we are seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function and contribute to our long-term growth and success.
The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key commercial role encompassing finance, accounting, IT, and operational support.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy of the business and supporting its continued growth, particularly in the digital space.
Key Responsibilities Oversee financial control, including management of a small finance team, P&L reporting, balance sheet management, budgeting, and forecasting.
Provide strategic financial support to the Managing Director to aid business decision-making and growth initiatives.
Maintain cost control and implement measures to enhance financial efficiency.
Manage debtor accounts, ensuring timely collection and reconciliation.
Oversee payroll processing and PAYE returns for approximately 40 employees.
Handle VAT reporting and ensure timely filing of returns.
Prepare for the annual financial audit, ensuring full compliance.
Manage relationships with financial institutions, software and hardware providers, and company pension providers.
Maintain and update HR records, contracts, and company policies.
What Were Looking For Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with proven experience at a senior finance level.
Experience in commercial finance support, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Experience in media, publishing, or a similar fast-paced industry is advantageous but not essential.
