 
        
        Precia Molen are looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer to support the Projects Team in preparing, building, and testing equipment prior to delivery. Responsibilities include equipment assembly, system testing, preparing parts and paperwork, and providing phone-based technical support.
You'll work closely with the Engineering and Software teams, gaining in-depth knowledge of Precia Molen's full product range, including weighing systems and control systems. The role requires reading electrical drawings, following manuals, and using our ERP system for processing orders and shipments.
Duties also include site work on occasion: Including installing, integrating, and commissioning driver-operated weighbridge systems, ensuring all hardware (barriers, traffic lights, cameras, sensors) and software work together seamlessly.
Additional tasks include scale calibrations and verifications, maintaining tools and workshop standards, delivering training (internal and client-facing), and ensuring all procedures and documentation are followed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
 * Build, configure, and test weighbridge control systems, including traffic lights, barriers, CCTV, VOIP, Card readers, printers and ANPR cameras
 * Commission and calibrate systems on-site, ensuring correct integration of I/O modules, PLCs, and compliance with metrology standards
 * Prepare and test equipment for delivery, including packing, documentation, and ERP updates
 * Collaborate with electricians, the software team, and project teams to ensure smooth system deployment
 * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both on-site and remotely, providing feedback to improve systems
 * Deliver customer and internal training on Driver Operated Terminals (DOT), weighbridges, and integrated systems
 * Read and follow electrical/control system drawings and build panels or systems accordingly
 * Use ERP system (e.g. SAP) to manage stock, shipments, and documentation
 * Participate in project planning meetings and report regularly to the Projects Manager on progress
 * Scale calibrations and configuration
Requirements:
 * Eligible to work in Ireland
 * Full driving license
 * Strong troubleshooting skills, both on-site and remotely
 * Experience working with electrical systems, low-voltage DC circuits
 * Experience with industrial communication networks such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, or similar.
 * Ability to collaborate with electricians, software developers, and project managers
 * Good organisational skills with attention to detail in following procedures and documentation
 * Willingness to travel for on-site work and commissioning tasks
 * Strong communication skills for customer interaction and team reporting
Preferred:
 * Background in the weighing industry
 * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals
 * Hands-on experience with system commissioning, calibration, and integration of hardware (e.g, Traffic lights, barriers, ANPR cameras)
 * Proficiency using ERP systems (e.g SAP) for managing orders, stock, and documentation
 * Degree or equivalent in Instrumentation, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
Location: The role will be based in the Precia Molen offices located in Clane, Co. Kildare, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Site work is also required on occasion.
