Our model is unique in that it allows personal training to be accessible to everybody, not just those who can afford it. We work closely with our clients, using a holistic approach, helping them to reach their health and fitness goals. We also work together as a team within the gym, to give our clients the best customer service that we possibly can, with a high standard of care and knowledge.What type of person are we looking for?We are looking for a friendly, down-to-earth personal trainer / fitness instructor to join our team within a fast expanding business. Someone who wants to gain extensive experience, and wishes to further their knowledge and education within the industry. You will be able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will have the opportunity to learn how a successful business operates and the rewarding experience of working closely with many different types of clients.Our hours are regular, week on week, no split shifts and we are closed on Sundays and Bank holidays - giving you more time for yourself outside of working hours.This position is a 39 hour per week salary based contract, which means paid holidays, no working on public or bank holidays and the financial security of knowing that you will receive regular wages… so you don't have to worry about where your next client is coming from In addition to this, your hard work and dedication will be rewarded through monetary bonus schemes.PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONKnowledge & skills:A current qualification in personal training and/or gym instruction (NCEHS - NCEF – ITEC) or equivalent.An interest in people and working with them.The ability to perform under pressure and to multitask.Works well on their own and as part of a team.Responds well to pressure and change.Strong communication skills.A willingness to learn.JOB OBJECTIVESThe personal trainer's role is:To deliver a high level of customer service experience, to identify the client's health & fitness needs and goals, and to work with them to achieve this in a warm and friendly environment.To provide tailored fitness plans that are unique to each client's needs.To advise the clients on nutrition regarding weight loss or gains.To carry out administration tasks required for the smooth running of a busy gym.Weekly shifts / no splits: As trainers ourselves, we know that personal trainers often work very irregular hours which can be exhausting to the trainer. To help ease the demands of the job, your shifts will be regular each week from Monday to Thursday (i.e: either all mornings, all afternoons, all evenings and no split shifts), and one Friday OR a Saturday shift. We are closed every Sunday and we do not open on Bank Holidays. The hours indicated below are given to you the month in advance so you can plan your life around workKEY RESPONSIBILITIESYou will be required to:Work closely with clients to implement their programs - with a strong emphasis on customer service.Create individualised training programs, perform fitness assessments and evaluations using our tried and tested system and methods.Carry out administrative tasks as part of the normal working day to ensure a smooth running of the business.Ensure that the gym is presented in a high standard at all times, is clean, tidy and uncluttered.Work in collaboration as a team, but also be able to work to on your own initiative.Behave at all times in one's dealing with colleagues and clients to the highest ethical standards.Take on any other duties that are assigned to you by your manager and for which you have been provided with reasonable knowledge and training in respect of such tasks.POTENTIAL CHANGES TO JOB DESCRIPTIONJob descriptions are essentially dynamic documents and they should reflect the ongoing changes within particular jobs and departments.
