We are looking to recruit a skilled and driven Technical Bid Writer to join our Pre-Construction and Estimating team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to our success in securing both private and public sector projects by preparing high-quality pre-qualification submissions, producing persuasive tender documents, and delivering impactful client presentations.
Role Purpose
The Technical Bid Writer will be tasked with developing concise, compelling, and well-organised written material for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and requests for tender (RFT) submissions. Collaborating closely with our Estimating, Design, Planning, and Delivery teams, the Technical Bid Writer will ensure that every submission highlights our expertise, technical strengths, and unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, write, and coordinate high-quality tender and pre-qualification submissions for both public and private clients.
* Work collaboratively with bid teams to extract key project information, case studies, and technical details that align to project specific requirements.
* Research and analyse tender documentation, identifying requirements, risks, and opportunities.
* Develop, edit, and tailor standard content to meet specific client and project needs.
* Ensure submissions are compliant with client requirements, well-presented, and delivered on time.
* Manage and regularly refresh a central repository containing company information, project records, and template responses.
* Support post-tender presentations and clarifications as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement in bid quality and process efficiency.
* Support the project delivery team in developing logistics plans and compiling pre-construction documentation as requested by clients or design teams.
* Assist the project management team in developing site logistics and construction management plans for planning submissions as requested by the client.
* Liaise with the project management teams to keep project and client information up to date.
* Travel to project sites across Ireland as needed to identify critical challenges and logistical considerations, ensuring these insights are accurately incorporated into submission documents.
* Any other duties as required by management.
You will need
* A construction-related technical degree (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture)
* 3 to 4 years of proven experience in technical bid writing, ideally in the construction, engineering, or built environment sectors
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English
* Skilled at translating complex technical and operational information into clear, client-focused written and diagrammatic content
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with InDesign is preferred
* Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, and sustainable practices is advantageous
* Understanding of public procurement procedures, including eTenders and framework agreements
* Proficient organisational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Experience working on site is considered an asset

* High attention to detail and dedication to delivering quality work
* Capacity to manage multiple submissions simultaneously
* Ability to travel to project sites across Ireland as required to identify challenges and logistical considerations
