Softcat's Multinational distributors are critical to delivering outstanding customer service to our global customers. The team are also responsible for the effective onboarding of new suppliers negotiating favourable terms and minimising risk to the business. The Supplier Development Executive role is a newly created position to drive value and growth as part of an overall Supplier Development team within Strategic Sourcing.Success. Having responsibility for distribution partners in specific regions, focussing primarily on the Irish market, you will have a deep understanding of the vendors they supply and the procurement programmes for each of these vendors. You will work to develop the partners in line with the Softcat's key priorities, maximising operational efficiency and best commercial value.You will provide commercial insight to the business for your partners and actively participate in the annual tender process, delivering preferable terms for Softcat. Acting as an escalation for the business you will be responsible for ensuring that our partners work within our expected requirements.You will collaborate with multiple areas of the business including sales, vendor alliances, procurement, finance, multinational and operations.What You'll Be DoingMaintain in-depth knowledge of Irish distribution partners, including their vendor portfolios and strategic alignment with SoftcatIdentify opportunities for distribution partners to support Softcat's business growth.Monthly assessment of partner's performance looking at trends and identifying areas of developmentWork closely with internal stakeholders to improve operational performance across the business for all areas.Organise quarterly business reviews and create development plan for future growthBe the central point of contact for any partner escalations and own through to resolution.Be central point of contact for partner onboardings and managing through to completionSupport with negotiating additional value on large or high value/strategic deals to maximise margin and support sales growth.Awareness of changing customer needs, the market, our competition, and future trends in technology to maintain relevance.Support the Multinational SDM to execute tendered commercial agreements, driving improved terms across payment, rebates, and service performance.Identify opportunities for operational efficiency through automationAttend distribution and vendor eventsDeliver timely and effective query resolution for the Irish sales team, ensuring adherence to internal and external SLAs.What We Need From YouCommitment to travel to the UK (Head Office or Manchester) once every 6 weeksA strong influencer and communicator.Critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsAn understanding of the IT Channel and its structure.Proven track record of good relationship building and communication skills.Highly organised and process improvement mindset.Excellent analytical skills.Ability to multitask and be able to demonstrate good time management skills.Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts across all levels.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with a good working knowledge of ExcelWe also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!Work in a way that works for youWe recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
