You must have experience of leading and building teams to drive performance, engagement and support our vision to being our customers' most valued and trusted business partner.Key Accountabilities:Co-ordination of all depot activities and efficient dispatch of routes daily, ensuring the smooth running of depot while ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to at all timesCoaching and motivating members of the delivery team in line with performance and absence management processes to ensure concerns are managed appropriately. Analysing trends where appropriate, coach and where necessary follow the disciplinary processes.Maintaining open ongoing communication with departments across the business including sales, warehouse and with the transport team, including daily/weekly briefings with the teamEnsuring equipment breakdown and repairs are minimized and reportedEnsuring that company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brandManage incoming and outgoing goods and backhaul collections on a daily basisRelief driving as necessaryIdentifying, coordinates and delivers training as appropriate to meet driver needsEnsuring the premises are maintained to the highest standardsEnsuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all timesLeading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased mannerRequirements:3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology driven, time sensitive distribution operationExperience within the Food distribution industry is advantageousCompetent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and WordAbility to plan and organise your own and your teams work activities in a safe, efficient and effective mannerStrong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.)Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of serviceProven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach to the businessAbility to analyse, interpret and explain and present relevant business dataFluent English - reading and writingHigh level of flexibility and problem solvingA full clean Category C Drivers License, valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card and have a digital tachograph card would be advantageousMust possess a strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical areaCore Competencies:Building Effective Relationships- Is a role model for maintaining constructive and effective relationships with others across departments and other boundaries.
