Chief Risk Officer Job Description
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a pivotal role that ensures the firm's resilience, regulatory compliance, and excellence in risk management.
Responsibilities
* Lead the risk management function and report key risk indicators to the Board.
* Develop and maintain the Recovery Plan, Wind Down Plan, Resolution Plan, and Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA).
* Manage internal stress testing processes and submit accurate and timely information to regulators.
* Develop and oversee the internal audit charter, risk-based audit plans, and ARCC terms of reference.
* Lead climate-related financial risk management initiatives.
* Maintain compliance with all risk management systems, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior risk role, preferably with PCF-14 experience in a MiFID investment firm (equities/CFDs focus).
* Experience with systematic internalisers, MTFs, Exchanges, or algorithmic trading tools (RTS 6) in highly regulated environments.
* A strong understanding of financial markets and brokerage industry, particularly retail flow.
* Deep knowledge of market practices and relevant regulation (including IFR/IFD).
* A minimum degree in a relevant field (STEM, Business, Law, Economics).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly.
