Overview
Senior Project Director - Ireland role at WSP in Canada. The Irish Roads team is seeking a Senior Project Director with extensive post-qualification experience in the design and construction of major roads infrastructure projects. The role is primarily client-facing in the region, with a track record of delivering schemes in either the local or national transport arena across Ireland. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership of major projects and programmes throughout the full project lifecycle.
Due to recent successes on a number of projects, the team is growing and offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate seeking new and exciting opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact with senior and executive-level client representatives on the major project portfolio
* Lead a large group of multidisciplinary professionals to deliver the client’s overall requirements
* Develop new proposals, mobilise projects, and maintain the monthly project review cycle to ensure high-quality outcomes on a proactive basis
* Work with the client and design teams to deliver compliant designs on time and within budget, in accordance with health and safety, internal QA procedures, and technical review requirements
* Manage resources effectively to meet fluctuating workloads and client demands
* Direct the project team to deliver cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme; provide mentorship and advice to less experienced team members
* Develop relationships with other WSP teams to utilise additional resources for multi-disciplinary project delivery
* Agree fees and manage the commercial position on the project
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
It is anticipated that you will be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with extensive post-qualification experience. The experience should include:
* Strong leadership skills to inspire and lead a large team on complex projects
* Project management and technical delivery leadership of medium to high complexity road schemes
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong leadership and management abilities; able to communicate effectively externally and internally
* Ability to establish, build and sustain strong client relationships
* A track record of leading projects and delivering outcomes aligned with strategic priorities
* Strong project and commercial skills with the ability to develop innovative delivery solutions that meet client requirements and provide value for the business
* Experience within Roads across markets, with knowledge in design and supervision of major road-related projects
