Join to apply for the Senior Clinical Psychologist – Endometriosis at The Coombe Hospital
Overall job role
The purpose of the post is to develop and deliver a professional Psychology service to patients attending the Endometriosis service in Coombe Hospital, in line with service plans and objectives and within the National Model of Care guidelines. The National Model of Care for Endometriosis is based on a presumed diagnosis model, treating women based on reported symptoms. The goal is to provide timely and effective treatment at the appropriate level of intervention, guided by the principle of ‘right care, right place, right time’.
Background
Endometriosis is a difficult condition to diagnose and treat because of the variation of presentations, impacting the physical and mental wellbeing of patients at varying levels. Diagnosing endometriosis is made even more challenging because the condition does not only arise in the pelvic area but also in other parts of the body. Classic symptoms include premenstrual pain, painful menstruation, painful intercourse, infertility, pain in the abdomen, lower back, pelvis, and pain when passing stools. However, others who have endometriosis may experience few or no symptoms. The key aim of treatment is to relieve symptoms so that the condition does not interfere with day‑to‑day life for patients.
Application deadline
Submit an updated CV and letter before the closing date of 4 pm on Friday 31 October 2025.
