Job Title: Operations Manager Location: Ballina, County Mayo (Headquarters) Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) About the Role The Operations Manager is a key senior appointment within the organisation and will play a central role in scaling the companys production operations to support its ambitious growth plans within the global vaccine industry.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the production operations function, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the consistent delivery of high-quality products to customers worldwide.
This role will also contribute strategically to the companys business planning and global expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the scale-up of production operations to support current and future business growth.
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing production operations team.
Ensure all production activities operate in line with best practice standards and comply with all relevant regulatory and quality requirements.
Ensure production output and customer shipments are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications.
Drive performance across quality, efficiency, and cost metrics.
Provide key operational and strategic input into the companys business planning process, including global expansion initiatives.
Support grant applications and contribute to financial management and budgeting activities.
Represent the company at international conferences, industry events, and client meetings.
Prepare and deliver operational reports and insights at senior management and board level.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Essential Requirements Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior operational management role within a highly regulated environment.
Proven track record of successfully managing and scaling operations.
Degree-qualified in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of operations, from day-to-day execution to strategic and board-level reporting.
Strong leadership capability, including experience in organisational development, team building, and people management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking, planning capability, and commercial acumen.
Desirable Requirements Experience working within a Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related regulated manufacturing environment.
Exposure to international operations, global customers, or export-focused manufacturing.
Experience supporting grant funding or public funding applications.
Personal Attributes Results-driven with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate effectively at both operational and strategic levels.
Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-growing environment.
