Job Title: Network Security Solutions Architect
Location: Dublin/Cork (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Day Rate Contract (6-month Rolling Contracts)
Start Date: ASAP (Two Interview Stage Process)
Role Overview
The Network Security Architect will play a key role within the Enterprise IT Services team, leading the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions that support the organisation’s digital transformation journey.
As part of the Network and Cybersecurity Design team, you will shape and execute network security architectures aligned with industry best practices, regulatory standards, and the organisation’s strategic vision for innovation and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing network and security landscape to support the integration of new services and continuous simplification.
* Design, implement, and maintain robust network and security solutions that protect critical infrastructure while enabling digital and business initiatives.
* Lead the design of secure and resilient network architectures that align with strategic objectives and compliance requirements.
* Drive network simplification initiatives—reducing complexity while maintaining industry-leading configurations.
* Champion an automation-first approach to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
* Enable secure cloud connectivity and hybrid integration solutions supporting digital and enterprise platforms.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure optimal delivery and support.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the risk landscape across all in-scope technologies and processes.
* Ensure controls are fit for purpose, compliant with internal standards, and aligned with regulatory and security requirements.
* Proactively address audit findings by implementing sustainable and forward-looking remediation measures.
* Support timely resolution of findings from internal and external reviews and strengthen overall control frameworks.

* Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, influencing key architectural and security decisions.
* Contribute to team-wide objectives and promote a strong culture of shared responsibility and delivery excellence.
Must‑Have Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in designing and implementing resilient network and network security solutions in complex enterprise environments.
* Hands‑on expertise in Zero Trust network architecture and related design principles.
* Strong familiarity with Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) requirements and network security compliance.
* Deep understanding of network security architectures for digital and retail banking, including segmentation, firewalling, secure access, and hybrid cloud models.
* Knowledge of the banking and payments regulatory landscape, including PSD2/PSD3, PCI‑DSS, and DORA.
* Demonstrated success delivering enterprise‑class network security solutions within large‑scale transformation or modernization programmes.
* Strong background in risk management, controls, and governance frameworks.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver consistent results.
* 5–7+ years’ experience in the management and operation of network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, SD‑WAN, secure web gateways, CASB, NAC).
* Experience working within the Irish or wider European financial services regulatory environment.
* Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CCSP, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
