That's why we're dedicated to the development of our employees, so that they can reach their career goals.What you can expect in a typical day:The terminal is located across two separate sites in Dublin Port and is an Upper Tier COMAH site (Chemicals Act - Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations). With large storage tanks supplied by ships using the facilities at Dublin port jetties, product is pumped into storage from the jetty, stored in tanks and then loaded onto road tankers for distribution by road.The Terminal Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the terminal maintenance programme to ensure the terminal operates in a safe and efficient manner to enable the importation, storage and discharge of fuels to our downstream and customer business. In this role, you will support in the smooth and reliable operation of equipment and systems, contributing directly to operational excellence.Main Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure planned preventive maintenance checks are completed and coordinate non-routine preventative maintenanceConduct routine inspections to address and forecast plant fatigue and respond promptly to breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly and avoid unnecessary downtimeMaintain and update computerised maintenance management systemResponsible for drafting and updating policy documents and procedures as requiredProvide supervision of maintenance contractors in line with permit-to-work proceduresReview of contractor risk assessment and method statementsProvide support for the permit to work system - ensuring hot work permits, confined space entry permits, and equipment isolation certificates are always in place and in dateSupport and coordinate the EHS induction training of contract workers and model best practice in EHS behavioursProvide support in the development of risk assessments to ensure safe terminal operationsProvide support in the completion of incident reporting and accident investigationProvide support to the team on capital investment projects and obtain competitive quotes for work/projects as requiredSupport continuous improvement initiativesWhat you'll need to succeed:Have a good understanding of oil terminal operationHave a track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and proven resultsStrong attention to detailStrong capability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and negotiating skillsEffective at problem solving and making decisionsHighly organized and be able to prioritize effectivelyPlease note the job is based in Dublin 5 days a week on siteProfessional Skills & Education:Third level qualification in mechanical, electrical engineering or technical equivalentAbility to read P&IDs and understanding LOTO protocolsExcellent EHS knowledgeStrong judgment and ability to identify critical situations and respond accordinglyAbility to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and influenceAbility to champion Irving Oil's/Top Oils values, goals and objectivesAbility to work in a team environmentProficiency in MS Office/Access/ExcelIrving Oil supports a diverse and inclusive work environment and welcomes applications from all qualified applicants.#IND1Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany pensionEmployee assistance programPrivate medical insuranceSick payWork Location: In person
