We are recruiting a
Payroll Officer
to support a busy payroll function.
This role involves end-to-end payroll processing and pension administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll from timesheets through to bank file submission
Review and amend timesheet entries and manage new starters
Administer deductions, expenses, tax updates, and statutory reporting
Prepare and submit PAYE Modernisation and Enhanced Reporting Requirement returns
Respond to payroll queries and calculate pay adjustments
Complete month-end payroll procedures
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with statutory requirements
Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented
Additional Information
Willingness to undertake further training as required
Travel between locations may be required
The Person
Education & Experience
IPASS qualification or relevant experience in a busy payroll department
Minimum 2 years' experience processing payroll from timesheets to bank file submission
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of the Core payroll system an advantage
Experience with PAYE Modernisation and SPSPS pension scheme advantageous
Strong IT skills, particularly with computerised payroll systems
Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
