Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a friendly and supportive team? Crescent Veterinary Clinic is looking for a compassionate professional to provide maternity cover for approximately 13 months starting in August 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented practice where we put our staff and patients first!
What’s the role?
This is a full-time position where you will have the chance to engage in a mix of consultations and surgeries. Your day will be varied, and you’ll be responsible for managing internal medicine cases, performing routine soft tissue surgeries, and delivering excellent care to our patients. You’ll be part of a well-equipped, collaborative team that values professional development and work-life balance.
Contract Type: Specific purpose (maternity leave cover), approx. 13 months
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
OOH: 1 weeknight per week plus 1 in 8 weekends on call
Caseload Split: Roughly 60% consultations, 40% surgery

What We’re Looking For
VCI Registered Veterinary Surgeon
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in small animal first opinion practice
Confident in general consults and routine soft tissue surgery (e.g. spays, dentals, lump removals, etc)
Ability to work up and manage cases in detail
Comfortable working sole charge
Strong communication and and the ability to collaborate with a veterinary team
A respectful, and professional attitude toward colleagues and clients
