Opportunity
You will work as a Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, providing high-quality care to patients within the public health system in Donegal Mental Health Services.
The West and North West region of the public healthcare service provides community healthcare and acute services to counties across Ireland, focusing on keeping individuals well through various health promotion, disease screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation programs.
Whenever possible, you will participate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance the hospital's research activities within a research governance framework.
This role is a fixed-term contract lasting 3 years.
Duties of the Appointed Specialist
1. To provide specialist assessment, diagnostic formulation, and treatment of mental illnesses and/or mental disorders in individuals under the age of 18 years, in accordance with national policies, procedures, and guidelines.
2. To triage all referrals to CAMHS services in conjunction with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
3. To maintain accurate and contemporaneous medical records of all clinical contacts.
4. To promptly notify the Executive Clinical Director and the Mental Health Commission of serious untoward incidents in accordance with relevant regulations.
