We are partnering with a leading international healthcare services and retail organisation headquartered in Ireland. The business operates across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a significant retail footprint and ambitious growth plans. With the organisation undergoing a major transformation, this newly created leadership role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping its future people strategy.
The Opportunity
We are now seeking a Head of HR - Retail Division. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this is a high-impact role offering substantial visibility, influence, and a defined succession path to HR Director level. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to drive transformation, build organisational capability, and enhance the employee experience nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert and pragmatic advice on complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance and building trust across the business.
* Lead transformation initiatives including employer branding, policy development, and the implementation of key systems such as Workday and biometric time & attendance.
* Build strong relationships with managers, store leaders, and retail teams across the network, ensuring a visible and trusted HR presence.
* Manage, develop, and mentor a team of HRBPs and support staff, contributing to the design and evolution of the wider HR structure.
* Partner with the HR Director to shape and deliver pay strategy, policy, and broader HR programmes.
The Person
* Senior HR generalist with strong expertise in employee relations and a deep knowledge of Irish employment law.
* Proven experience in fast-paced, multi-site environments - ideally retail, though other sectors will be considered.
* Commercially minded, able to align HR strategy with measurable business outcomes.
* Demonstrated success in leading change programmes including M&A/TUPE, cultural alignment, and post-merger integration.
* Credible, resilient and confident with senior stakeholders, with a strong ability to influence at all levels.
* Track record of developing and leading HR teams within complex or matrixed organisations.
* Experience gained in large Irish PLCs or multinational FMCG environments at senior HR level is strongly preferred.
* Flexibility to travel nationwide as required.
