The Royal Marine Hotel is delighted to invite applications for the position of Full-Time Receptionist to join our Front Office team in our 228-bedroom, 4-star hotel.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and guest-focused individual with a genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service.
Job Summary As a Hotel Receptionist, you will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming and seamless experience for our guests.
Your responsibilities will include check-in and check-out procedures, handling inquiries, assisting with reservations and ensuring the highest standards of customer care.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests throughout their stay.
Manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently using the hotel's Property Management System (PMS).
Handle guest inquiries in person, by phone and via email, ensuring prompt and helpful responses.
Assist with reservations, amendments and cancellations.
Process payments, pre-authorisations and billing queries accurately.
Liaise with other departments, including housekeeping and maintenance, to support guest needs.
Maintain strong knowledge of hotel services, current promotions and local attractions.
Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating when required.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies and health safety standards.
Keep the front desk area clean, organised, and presentable at all times.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility, including evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
Ideal Candidate Requirements Previous experience in hotel reception.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, approachable manner.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Keen attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Experience with a PMS (preferably HOTSOFT) is an advantage, though training will be provided.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
