We are recruiting a Part-time Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant to join our care team at Knockrobin Hill Care Home, Wicklow Town.
Working as part of a team, the post holder will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and best practice in compliance with health and safety, and company policies.
Requirements
* Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents.
* Capacity to uphold the highest level of cleanliness when dealing with residents.
* Good level of verbal and written English.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor stock levels of all equipment and supplies.
* Keep checklists updated and work closely with the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager / Director of Nursing to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Ensure resident rooms are clean and tidy to a high standard.
* Carry out all work while ensuring resident safety.
* Adhere to infection control guidelines at all times.
* Work cooperatively and communicate with the multidisciplinary team.
* Report incidents to the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager/Director of Nursing.
* Maintain professionalism, friendliness, and approachability with residents, visitors, and staff.
* Liaise with management regarding new admissions and ensure residents' clothes are labelled.
* Contribute to ongoing monitoring, audits, and evaluations of the service.
* Participate in staff, resident, and departmental meetings.
* Manage laundry tasks including washing, drying, and folding in accordance with infection control policies.
* Ensure all clothing and bedding are washed, ironed, folded, and stored properly.
* Label residents' clothing to prevent loss and deliver it neatly to residents.
* Keep wardrobes and laundry areas tidy and clean.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry room, including equipment and floors daily.
