Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, behaviours that challenge, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Wat.

Location:
The Brothers of Charity Services in South Connemara are a community based Service.
The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community.
Our focus is to form a relationship / partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences.
We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships.
Staff allocation could be either within Centre based residential/day units, or in the community as Service needs.
We wish to recruit an innovative, creative, visionary person who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision.
We are looking for an individual who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support and are open to change.
Reporting/Responsible To:
Team leader / Service coordinator / Area manager
Works With:
Individuals and families and front line staff

Qualifications
A full clean Driving Licence (Class D1) and CPC examinations are essential for the appointee to drive the transport that is assigned to the Service.
This must be produced and checked at the interview.
As part of the role in developing links with Irish speaking community groups willingness to learn the Irish language is a requirement of this post.
Experience
Applicants must have relevant minibus driving experience.
Experience of working with persons with an intellectual disability would be an advantage.
Experience in general maintenance provision is an advantage.
Skills
Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to set goals, put into action and follow through.
The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
Creativity and initiative
Be innovative and self-motivated
Commitment to current best practice internationally and co-operating in an interdisciplinary team environment with a person-centred philosophy
The ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality
Patience and a sense of humour
Staff will be expected to network with local community groups and develop positive links for the individuals who use the service.
Keep up to date with current practice.
Working Hours
26.5 hours a fortnight based on a 5 day duty roster.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery.
22 days pro rata per annum i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked.
Remuneration
Department of Health Driver (Patients Public Roads) salary scale (01/08/ €35,788 x 8 increments to €44,984 pro rata per annum.
This post is permanent, part-time and pensionable.
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
Driving Assessment
Applicants may be required to undergo a Minibus Driving assessment by an Assessor nominated by the Brothers of Charity Services.
