About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Engineering Technician with a background in Electrical and Instrumentation to join a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is based in North Dublin and offers an opportunity to lead and mentor a skilled maintenance team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the smooth and efficient running of all plant operations.
Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, providing technical support and guidance.
Collaborate with the Production and Quality departments to meet operational goals.
Troubleshoot and resolve plant and equipment issues in a hands-on capacity.
Promote and ensure a culture of safety in all engineering and maintenance activities.
Lead and deliver a proactive Preventative Maintenance program to maximize equipment efficiency.
Maintain and oversee the maintenance schedule, ensuring minimal unplanned downtime.
Manage spare parts procurement and control stock for optimal plant operation.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to service schedules.
Support engineering projects and implement plant improvements.
Participate in daily shift meetings to review performance and resolve issues.
Assist in workforce planning and development of maintenance resources.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal procedures, and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Time-served Electrical Technician with maintenance experience is essential.
Proven ability in electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong background in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
Trade qualification in Electrical / Instrumentation is highly desirable.
Experience in PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA systems, or electrical panel building is a distinct advantage.
Skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management methodologies.
Capable of performing mechanical tasks as needed.
Experienced in condition monitoring, OEE systems, and continuous improvement projects.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of regulatory and audit compliance in an industrial setting.
Ability to manage budgets and resource allocation effectively.
Additional Information
Overtime may be required during peak periods or urgent maintenance situations.
Must be flexible and adaptable to support other engineering duties as assigned.
