RTÉ Radio 1 is Ireland’s biggest radio station, reaching 1.3 million listeners weekly, and we’re in the middle of an ambitious strategy to increase our audience share in the 35‑54 age group.
About the role
If successful, you will:
Drive and produce compelling and engaging content across all Radio 1 platforms with a specific focus on our target audience of 35‑54‑year‑olds
Set the agenda and break stories in a competitive audio landscape
Source new and diverse voices to contribute to our output
Amplify our content across all platforms by liaising with our social and press teams
About you
A proven track record in producing live current affairs content
Brings a motivated, courageous and energetic dynamism to the programme team
Instinctive knowledge of how to reach our target demographic
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Can manage change and push boundaries
Ability to generate engaging and stimulating content daily
Can think beyond linear and embrace cross‑platform opportunities
Capacity to work collaboratively with editors and programme team colleagues
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Be solutions‑focused and flexible
Have a strong understanding of live audio production and the ability to be innovative and creative in this area
Awareness of legislative and regulatory requirements
Contract & Compensation
This appointment will be on a 2‑year fixed‑term full‑time contract. Salary range: €54,661 – €85,602 gross per annum.
