Job Description
This is a senior production role that oversees the entire production process, ensuring smooth operations and high productivity. The successful candidate will have experience in managing teams and implementing processes to maximize daily production.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all production operations, including maintenance, health & safety, quality, and environmental issues.
* Lead and manage a team of production specialists; implement processes and procedures to maximize daily production.
* Lead special projects related to continuous improvement (CI) and bring the team along on the CI journey.
* Daily running of the plant and maintaining high standards across the operation.
* Production planning and goal setting.
* Collaborate with the head of operations on Lean initiatives to foster a continuous improvement culture.
* Manage KPIs and ensure production operates optimally.
* Coordinate with warehouse managers to ensure adequate stock levels.
* Identify cost savings and energy efficiencies across the plant.
* With the Health & Safety Manager, ensure safety is at the forefront of operations.
* Identify and implement changes to improve productivity with the head of operations.
* Manage projects related to plant layout, capital equipment, and major maintenance programs.
* Operate according to reliability engineering processes and procedures.
* Resource planning related to raw materials.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in the labelling sector is an advantage.
* Experience in a Lean environment; Lean qualification is a plus.
* Experience in Health & Safety.
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to motivate a team.
* Change management and process improvement experience.
* Ability to embrace new systems and educate others in their use.
* Attention to detail and the ability to foresee problems before they arise.
