We are currently in the pre-registration phase with Tusla and are building a team committed to compassion, consistency, and excellence in care. As a founder-led service with business and operations expertise, we now seek an experienced Non-Executive Director of Care to strengthen our governance and ensure the highest standards of care.
Purpose of the Role
The Non-Executive Director of Care will provide independent, expert oversight of care quality, safeguarding, and governance. This role is advisory and strategic, ensuring young people's needs remain central to the service while guiding the leadership team and supporting the Home Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide independent oversight of care quality and safeguarding standards.
* Support the leadership team to meet Tusla registration and HIQA inspection requirements.
* Contribute to governance, including compliance, risk management, and service audits.
* Act as an external advisor and mentor to the Home Manager.
* Participate in monthly governance reviews, board meetings, or site visits.
* Support the development of policies, culture, and the model of care.
Person Specification
* Proven experience in senior roles within children's residential care
(essential).
* Strong knowledge of Tusla/HIQA standards, safeguarding legislation, and governance.
* A collaborative, ethical, and child-centred approach.
* Availability for approx. 1-2 hours/week and occasional site visits to Donegal.
* Willingness to act as advisor/mentor.
Terms of Engagement
* Non-executive, consultancy role (not an employee position).
* Monthly retainer or per-day consultancy fee to be agreed.
* Travel costs for site visits reimbursed.
