Be a registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner with the NMBI or be on Advanced Nurse Practitioner Candidate Register. Master's degree in nursing (NFQ Level 9), relevant to advanced field of practice. Registered Nurse Prescriber with NMBI (Desirable) Certificate in Ionising Radiation (Desirable) Management Qualification (Desirable) Experience Have at least 5 years post registration experience in Older Persons Care. Demonstratable specialist knowledge and clinical skills in the specific area of practice Older Persons Care. Have acute hospital nursing experience to include experience in nurse management post/posts. User experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable) Preceptorship experience (Desirable) The Purpose of This Role: The Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in Older Persons Services delivers person-centred care to older adults with complex, multiple, and long-term health conditions. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the ANP provides advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management to promote health, independence, and quality of life in older people. The ANP will provide clinical leadership and promotion of the mission & values of the hospital while optimising patient experiences and outcomes. Key Responsibilities: The RANP practices to a higher level of capability across six domains of competence as defined by Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017). The six domains of competence are as follows: Professional Values and Conduct, Clinical-Decision Making, Knowledge and Cognitive Competences, Communication and Interpersonal Competences, Management and Team Competences andLeadership and Professional Scholarship Competences. Along with that, the RANP will also be responsible for the following but not limited to; Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for professional practice as a lead healthcare professional in the care of older person's care. Collaborate with your Head of Department and local stakeholders to scope the caseload and scope of practice for the ANP Older Persons care Articulate and promote the advanced practice nursing service in clinical and professional contexts. Demonstrate accountability in considering access, cost and clinical effectiveness when planning, delivering and evaluating care (for example key performance areas, key performance indicators, metrics). Promote a culture of quality care To support clinical audit of practice within the hospital and supported by the Nurse Practice Development Co-Ordinator and Clinical Facilitator. Communicate results of assessments, treatment/care programs and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy/as required. Develop metrics for quality monitoring and performance review. Liaising with the Consultants on service issues and initiatives.
