Overview
We are currently looking to recruit a Wind Turbine Service Technician on a Permanent basis to join the team working across the Slievecallan windfarm in County Clare.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines for Nordex Energy Ireland, based at covering turbines at Slievecallan windfarm.
You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities.
Our goal is to achieve a high level of availability for the running of the turbines!
Responsibilities
On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
Supporting on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
Providing on site software & hardware updates
Supporting on-line and on phone technical support
Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary
Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm).
If there is a problem with a wind turbine at the end of your shift you may be asked to stay and work overtime to get it fixed.
We also need our Service Technicians to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend; therefore you will work on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on the size of your team).
Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will receive an additional payment for the weekend you are on on-call.
What are we looking for?
Experience in the Mechanical / Electrical industry with knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
Mechanical or Electrical training through time-served or a technical college qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Ability to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions; comfortable in a changing environment
Positive attitude with willingness to learn, lead, and improve
Computer literate and confident in using MS Office and workload management systems; SAP experience a bonus
Role involves working at heights up to 100m; fitness and health clearances and passing a working at height test
Regular travel including nights away from home; Full UK / EU Driving Licence required
